FOX 04, more commonly referred to as FOXO4-DRI, is a synthetic research peptide studied for its role in cellular senescence. It is designed to disrupt the interaction between the FOXO4 protein and p53, a pathway that helps senescent cells survive; in laboratory and animal research, this disruption has been associated with promoting apoptosis of those dysfunctional “aged” cells while sparing normal cells. Because of that mechanism, FOXO4-DRI is commonly described as a senolytic peptide and is being explored in preclinical research related to aging, tissue function, and age-associated cellular decline.
